Default Favorite Seed Source For Peppers?

I have been focused on trying every variety of heirloom tomato I can get my hands on and grow 30-60 plants a year. Every year I swear I will cut back and I think 2014 is the year I successfully cut back to maybe 15 of my favorite and then maybe try 10 new ones. That is my goal any way!

Peppers take up less room and I love them so I may switch my focus to peppers for a few years. I grew about 35 pepper plants this year.

I would like to find a few pepper seed sources that have fair prices, reasonable shipping rates with a lot of varieties. Please share your favorite pepper sources with me.

I love this site for info on peppers! http://thehotpepper.com/

http://www.tradewindsfruit.com/ is a place I've ordered from. Free shipping if you order over 10$ from the site and they have a pretty good variety of peppers, hot and sweet.

I bought plenty of seeds at Tradewinds yesterday. I curse you, tlintx. May that Eucalyptus tree make you sneeze!

I have purchased from Tatiana's in the past and love her selections and the fact that she has growing climate similar to mine.

I will check out some of the others when I have more time on my hands.

Thanks!

I like -

sample seed shop
trade winds fruits
pepper lover
jungle rain (Australia so an order takes a while to arrive)
rainbow chile seeds

and the sites that montanamato listed

I have made mistakes on many of the above's seeds in trying to germinate the difficult to sprout/grow varieties; but I attribute that to me and not the seeds, as I have had great germination with all of the above vendors

If a particular "must have" seed lists a low quantity for the price, I would order more then one pack as I have messed up and was then out of more seeds!

I've used Tradewinds too, very pleasant experience, very recommended. Love their website and how easy it is to use -- once you make an order, you can view it and click each item to go to the item's page. Really useful when you buy a bunch of exotics you're not sure how to germinate.

Just don't click the "SALE" button if you're trying not to over-indulge!

My favorites are

Sand Hill Preservation seeds-free shipping with minimal orders and tons of seed

skyfire seeds- great service and always 100 % germination

Solana seeds- Canadian business with great selection

Native seed search- mostly Anaheim types, but a great selection

Southern seed exposure- another small company I have always had good experience with

I just received my first order from Skyfire Garden Seeds today. Fast service, but you need to pay attention to their new address:

1228 North 7th Street
Salina, KS. 67401

Got a couple of packets of Donkey Ear Peppers from them...

Besides Sand Hill and Trade winds, there is
Gourmet international http://www.gourmetseed.com/
and https://www.nicholsgardennursery.com
Nichols appears to have free shipping on seeds

Packets are generous with seed.

I share your opinion of The Hot Pepper forums, I'm a member over there too!

My favorite seed source is Semillas la Palma. Their selection is mind blowing and prices are very reasonable, 1.5 Euro for all varieties I believe. The owner, Peter, is a good guy.

Agree with Bill, Semillas la Palma is a wonderful place to shop for pepper seeds.
And Bayou Traders Peppermania (http://www.peppermania.com/) has a great selection and high germination rates (but can be slow filling orders, depending on when you order)
