Agree with saltmarsh, but would like to add something. Biological diversity is what maintains predator populations high enough to handle pests like that. So make your gardens a diverse habitat. Plant a wide variety of companion plants and cover crops and try an keep something green and growing all year round.

I agree I dont use any poison to speak of and I have an abundance of critters to eat each other.
Birds frogs toads spiders insects lizards snakes armadillos and something is green all year.
I would say the good critters out number the bad by 50 to 1 if mot more.

I came down the driveway on my motorcycle yesterday and had to slam on the brakes.
About 5 lizards decided to cross the road all at the same time.
