New development in root knot nematode control
I found this of interest, and thought others might, too.
Bayer CropScience has a new product in the testing and trial stage called Votivo, which is touted to form a barrier around the root system of plants, limiting nematodes from feeding. It's a root colonizing bacterium which is used as a seed treatment. Sounds rather promising, and is slated for release in 2011. No idea if it would be available to the home gardener at that time, though. http://www.votivo.us/votivo-solution-1.aspx http://www.plantmanagementnetwork.or...s/2009/VOTiVO/ http://www.votivo.us/default.aspx |
