Planted some peppers for the first time
Starts acquired at Orchard Nursery in Lafayette, CA. Planted in 5-gal fabric grow pots I got for $3 each at the local hydro store, with Navlets' Potting Soil (a good seeming mix that seems to drain well) amended at planting time with a light dose of granula Dr. Earth organic vegetable fert.
Fingers crossed. I plan to mulch as soon as I get a better sense of how much these pots breathe relative to the Smart Pots that I am using. Letting them dry out pretty thoroughly between waterings at the moment. Piemento de Padron Manzanilla Orange Cayenne Long Slim NuMex Big Jim (very excited about this - Chile Rellenos mmm) The Cayenne looks a bit sad but I hope it is just stressed, it took me 2 days longer to get it into a pot than the others and they were very hot days.
