2003 Seeds Sprout After 38 Days
On 1/16 I sowed 6 seeds in a 4" pot of Early Cascade F1, packed for 2003, which is no longer available. I also sowed the remaining 3 seeds of Ramapo F2 which Carolyn had sent me for 2004 just to see if they would still germinate. After 17 days, the first EC popped up, and after 24 days, one lone Ramapo.
Then last Friday, 2/27, 2 more EC's germinated at the same time, 38 days after sowing. If the first one wasn't there I probably would have given up after a month. Who new? However, after thinking about it I wonder though if the first one that came up somehow stimulated the two laggards to germinate with its root hairs when it reached them ?!
