New Varieties for 2008?
I was wondering which new varieties of veggies people were considering for next year. I have a lot of old favorites I grow over and over again but it's always fun to toss a few new ones into the mix for variety. Here's what I have planned or am thinking of growing that I have not grown before:
Pea-Russian Sugar Lettuce-Deer Tongue Endive-Frisee (tasted before) Potato-Belle de Fontenay Tomato-Green Gaint, Galina's (though I have tasted these before) Pepper-Mini Yellow, Hot Portugal Eggplant-Prosperosa Okra-White Velvet, Green Velvet Snap Bean-Super Marconi, Marvel of Venice, Fin de Bagnol, Rocquencourt Lima-King of the Garden Field Pea-White Acre Cucumber-Suyo Long (tasted before) Melon-Early Hanover Squash-Round of Parma Sweet Potato-Spanish Red (if Sand Hill offers it this year) Kale-Black Tuscan And that's it so far. Not a lot of new tomatoes this year. I'm sticking mostly to the familiar in that department. So let's hear what new things you all have planned for 2008! Happy Planning!
