Default Who in South Texas has stink bugs currently

I've been waiting for them to arrive but so far they are a no show. I'm not talking about the green sheild-shaped type, but the other black type....the ones that arrive in the hundreds and thousands.

I started bagging fruit for protection. So far only two plants of Yellow Brandywine and one plant of Brandywine.

I looked at my garden notes from previous years and noted that they had arrived June 1st and 7th but nothing this year so far.

So is anyone seeing them yet and how many are you observing? I'm hoping for 2 more weeks without them.

Jay, I looked at my notes from last year and by this time my notes included the word "infestation". First note of them was in May and so far this year I have seen a few nymphs and a couple of the green shield shaped type. I dont have a lot of fruit left on my remaining plants but am thankful I may be able to harvest what remains. I threw away over a hundred fruit last year due to stink bug damage.

I had a few red nymphs a few adults and a couple of shields.. I was able to eradicate them from my garden and have not seen one for a week. Could be the lack of rainfall keeping the populations down.

Thats what I'm thinking....lack of rainfall has impacted them. We did get some rain last night but I doubt the .20 will help them that much. Ideally, I would like to have two more weeks stinkbug free. But if I can make it through the weekend, I think I'll have most of the fruit protected by then except for small fruited varieties.

First year seeing a lot of Stink Bugs rather than Leaf-Footed Bugs. Not that it really matters, they do the same damage. It's just something to note. They are damaging a lot of Gregori's Altai, but since I am at the point of just saving a lot of seeds, I'm not too upset. I just saved about 500 seeds of GA, plus another 250 a week ago, so I should have enough.
