this year i'm just growing two plants i bought two days ago (cuore di bue and tondo liscio) but i'm already planning about some dozens for 2009
actually i'm saving seeds from the biggest toms i can find at the market, just to see what happens
and somebody in Calabria is saving me seeds from a 1.7 kg (almost 4 pounds) Belmonte
how are yours growing?
how do they look? oblate or heart?
actually i find contrasting information (and pictures) about them
for example, here is the Belmonte municipality website: http://www.comunedibelmontecalabro.cs.it/pomodoro.htm
they show pics of both hearts and oblate...

carpi, welcome to Tville. Always nice to see new members from this side of the pond. I to am growing Belmonte which tomatoaddict provided me the seed. This year I'm growing 40+ varietes and they are doing well because of the good weather we have been having here in Europe as a whole. What part of Italy do you live in? Ami

Carpi, I haven't weighed it yet and I have more on the vine that are bigger yet!!! I looked at the pics on the link you provided and, the Belmonte's look like 2 different tomatoes. One paste, and one beefsteak. They are not the same tomato correct?

I got my Belmonte from Upper Canada Seeds but they do not ship to the USA. I bought them because they are supposed to tolerate cool weather and are Det.

My 2 plants are about 4.5 feet tall, both with fruit. It will be quite a while before I can taste them due to the very very slow year we are having in PNW.

Who says you cant grow KBX in a small pot. Rather than chuck the seedling I put it in a 2? gallon pot and put it on the fenceline in June. Ami
