Default There can be no question...

This is the season's ugliest tomato! Anybody have an uglier one?

I think it looks like an old lady with her hair in a bun, who has lost her dentures, and has her eyes closed really tight. She also has a scar on her cheek and a little bit of a moustache.

Default Much too ugly

Sherry, I think I could find some pieces of yours to eat, but I had to chunk most of these. Tropical Storm Fay made a lot of Uglies here in North Georgia. This damage took only 48 hours. The tomatoes on the tray in the last picture were harvested just before the rain started. Those cherry types are SupSwt100. Picture #3 is a SuperSteak. Picture #4 is a Big Rainbow. Nothing was spared - Cherokee Purple, SuperTasty, Sungold Cherry, ..... all. I've never seen cherries split that badly. The skins looks like they literally exploded. This winter I will be building self watering containers with covered soil tops.

Ted -- That is very sad. Sorry you lost so many!

August is a pretty rainy month for us, so this year I put up a very attractive (ha!) tarp over my driveway tomatoes to keep them from splitting. Of course, it wouldn't begin to stand up to anything like a tropical storm!

If nothing else, I'll get a taste of this one and some seeds.

Sherry,
What kind of tomato is that creepy thing? It looks huge to me. I have one that is fused end to end but of course it is still very green and small. What a year!

You know, after studying that picture, the only name it COULD have would be Grumpy. It sure don't look like HAPPY or ........ Maybe the folks at that Air Base DID dump something in your garden.

Here are some freaky little New Yorkers. If I put some black dots for eyes, it could be something out of alien.

Who needs computer animation to grow or morph tomatoes into ugly monsters? Looks like these definitely could contend for extras in the next space alien flick. Thanks for the chuckles.
