Orange Strawberry and Plourde
These are two tomatoes that impressed me this year in the flavor department. The seed for OS came from Bitwise and the Plourde seed came from Manfred Hahm. I had a friend grow out the Plourde and he got only one fruit and from the taste I will certainly grow it next year. The Orange Strawberry is a beautiful heart and if I blindfolded somebody and told them they were eating a piece of melon they would probably believe it. You can cut it up in cubes with tooth picks stuck in them and serve them as appetizers.
The Plourde is a dark red that dates back to 1925 from the family Aurelius Plourde of Quebec. Both of these varieties are in my top 5 this year. So Here are some pics. Ami

Greetings Ami ... nice looking maters. That “Orange Strawberry” looks like what I sent you.
If it is from me, then you found it more tasty than I did. - Bitwise Last edited by Bitwise Gamgee; September 16, 2008 at 08:27 AM. |

Bitwise, my apologies. They are from you and I edited my original post to indicate that. It's definately tastey and will grow again. Have some lunkers hanging on the vine waiting to ripen up. Ami

No problem at all ... just wanted to be positive we were talking about the same tomato. I am very glad that you like it!
That's great that they are still coming in ... how long does your season last there? Mine is usually over in late August due to foliage disease. - Bitwise |
