What a great idea, Barry! I've always felt bad about throwing those containers away. Now I'll start saving them for next year.

Hi,

I have a few questions.

I am the lucky owner or should I say, I'm owned by five cats. As a result, I have lots and lots of cat litter pails. The garbage man hates me.

What diameter were the PVC wicking pipes? How big were the holes that you drilled in them? What worked best to drill the holes? I'm not very mechanically inclined, so I'd like to try this with as little damage as possible.

Thanks,

Heather

Well I believe I used 3/4 inch pvc but you could go to 1 inch I guess. The lengths are up to you on how much water you want to store. The higher the length, the more water you will be able to store.Mine were about five inches high.1/4 inch holes were drilled in the wicking tubes with a drill, and just spaced throughout the tube.Put plenty of holes in.Well I just held the tubes and drilled them but safest way is to use a vice.Just dont forget the overflow hole,or holes if you want more.Good luck with them Heather. If you have any other questions,Id be glad to help. They arent really that hard to make, honest. Barry p.s. where abouts in Pa? Im near Allentown

Harrisburg, we dodged the snowfalls that everyone else got around us.
