They are Quaker Parrots. They are worth up to $400 each and I have 22 of them wild in the back yard. They are pretty fun to watch.

Last winter when we were on vacation in Texas, I'm pretty sure I saw some birds like those or vary similar. We were along the Rio Grande near the Falcon park I think. They fly very fast when they aren't feeding if those were the same birds. Noisy too if I remember right.

They fly pretty much erratic but they can hover over a spot to roost and flying straight up seems effortless. Funny to watch them playing with sticks and clinging to the side of a tree.

They're so adorable! They are a good luck omen for sure.
You can give them some Nutritious goodies of (Unsalted & Unsugared) fruits or nuts such as: almonds pine nuts (very expensive) pistachio nuts (very expensive) pumpkin seeds (cheap, cheap) papaya pineapple mango chili peppers (There goes your Peppers) You'll need some bird netting! or other special bird treat. If you want to Read about some Birdie Recipes Species Specific Focus-Quakers You are lucky there are no laws against them here in the state of Texas: State Laws for Quaker Parakeets ~* Robin PS: Happy Birthday!!

Such pretty birds! I enjoy feeding the birds. I have a few types of nuisance birds around here so I stick to feeding the chickadees and goldfinches with nyjer seed.
Happy Birthday! Remy
