Shchelkovskiy Ranniy
This little plant (less than 24" tall) can hardly hold up these tomatoes!

Looking good, Sherry. I grew it this year (Seed from Andrey) and it is "De-Lish". Mine is about 30 inches tall and has just had a spurt of energy and is setting more blooms. It's in a 5 gallon square planter.
Others you can get from Tania and I think are a must try are Sibirskiy Skorospelyi and Agatha. Same size plants and larger fruit just as early. Ted

Ted -- Thanks for suggesting the other 2 varieties. I've made a note for next year. As you can imagine, I'm always looking for a good early. And I'm glad to hear you liked the taste of these.

SR is among my favorite early Russian varieties. Always has a very good performance in any conditions...

Andrey,
I am growing out your Betalux, along with many others from you, and the Betalux has been the first ripe with 2 tomatoes so far and another blushing. We are having a pretty good summer here in Anchorage, Alaska so that is good. Dokhodny is loaded up. Best wishes to you this summer. I'll get some of those SR seeds from Sherry for next season. Ted, what ones do you have from Andrey? Sue |

It always has been my pleasure to send you all these early local varieties to trial in your extreme growing conditions. Will be ready for our new seed trades this autumn, my gardening friends.

I sould have pointed out, by the way, that the plant in the picture above is outside ... not in the greenhouse. This has been a really good summer!
