Can Daconil cure disease?
I have read many threads here about Daconil as being a preventative to Late Blight. Can Danconil cure any tomato diseases at all or it it strictly a preventative to disease? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Talon

Daconil does something to the plant cells to make them resistant to the disease it does not cure the disease.

The Daconil molecules that block the attachment sites on the leaf surface aren't there forever, and that's why after rain one needs to respray and the instrictions for spraying it normally say every 5-7 days as I recall, showing that the blocking molecules aren't permanantly affixed to the leaf surface.

If there are already symptons on plants, whether they be leaf lesions or other symptoms that can also occur with Late Blight, then no, Daconil cannot eradicate an infection already started since the Daconil molecules have to be bound to those attachment sites first. If the spores attach first, then infection can follow. So you need to remove and dispose of affected leaves, etc, and then spray on a regular schedule to help prevent infection of any uninfected leaves there already as well as new leaves that will appear.
