Default Chinese Five Color

I have several of these plants that I grew from seed. Funny thing is that it only has one color of pepper, purple! Do the colors change the longer they are on the plant?

Good, spicy and prolific producers but not the color splash I was hoping for.

They should start a pale to mid lavender purple, then fade to cream (nearly white) - then on to yellow, to orange, to red. If they are not doing that, you have a cross (which happens easily and frequently with hot peppers)

I will post some pics at some point of what they are looking like in my garden.

Hmmm... These started out as dark purple and have stayed dark purple for a couple of weeks now. Stems are also dark purple. Pretty plant and the peppers are nice and HOT! I think I got this packet from a recommended commercial seed source. Maybe I should check with them to see if others had the same experience?
