Chocolate Stripes
Here are a few pictures of Chocolate Stirpes that I recently picked. This is probably the 5th one so far and lots more on the vine. This is the 1st year that I've grown this one (also have some Black Krims, Paul Robeson) and it won't be the last! Thought that you may enjoy the pictures.

I thought that it tasted great. Rather sweet yet earthy/smokey tasting. A really nice flavor. Paul Robeson is my favorite black tomato - I wouldn't put Chocolate Stripes on par with it, but I'll certainly grow it again.

Thanks, Buddy, for your comments re taste. I'm growing Choc Stripes for the first time this year. I'm also a big fan of Paul Robeson and am growing that one too.

Very very good tomato
I've tasted this from a garden in Napa Valley as well as a store bought one today...
It looked so beautiful that I had to buy it. It was one of the most memorable tomatoes I've had. Earthy, sweet, smokey, complex, but with a good deal of zip that I often don't find in blacks. I am definitely growing this one next year. It also happens to be very gorgeous as you guys know. |
