cgs, thanks for the informative article that pretty much covers hunting in Germany. I too took the German hunting course and passed. Unfortunately I never found the time required as it does take a personel commitment to be a hunter in Germany as are all German hunters. They not only hunt the game but care for it as well. From setting out winter feed stands for the animals, to marking the locaton of new born young in fields so when the farmers harvest their crops they will not injure the young animals living there. They perform surveys as to what type of game are in their area of responsibility and make head counts so they will know how many will need to be harvested the following year. The hunter in charge of the area to be hunted will tell the other hunters which animals they can harvest. It is all done under strict supervision and guidelines. Weidmansheil, Ami.
