More dehybridization projects
This is a placeholder for some pictures of other limited growouts of seeds saved from hybrids. This year, one F2 plant of the hybrid Big Thai, two F2 plants (one with pale purplish foliage, one green) from White Fire hybrid, and two F2 plants (one with pale purplish foliage, one green and fuzzy!) from Fogo hybrid.
The hybrid pictures are here: Big Thai F1: (very long green ripening to red) White Fire F1: (nearly bell shaped ivory to orange red) Fogo F1: (very long smooth green ripening to orange)

Fogo is quite hot, but that is second hand - I didn't eat any of them! It is available only from Stokes Seeds, as far as I know.

Big Thai - the single F2 plant I am growing this year:
Fogo - here is the green leaf F2 - it has unusually fuzzy stems. Here is the purplish leaf F2. Finally - White Fire - the green leaf F2: And the White Fire purplish leaf F2: In general, the Big Thai F2 could be quite similar to the hybrid; neither of the Fogo F2s are going to look like the F1. One of the White Fire F2s appears to be similar to the F1. Haven't tasted any of them yet, and none of the fruits are nearly full grown - and the ripe color is of course not known.
