Default Sweet Pickle Peppers

Have some sweet pickle peppers seed I will be trying out this 2011 season and was wondering if anyone else had grown them and could offer any advice.

Sweet Pickle pepper has 2-inch-long fruit that resembles the big and bold old-fashioned Christmas tree lights. Its fruit is sweet rather than hot, and the plant loads up with a bounty of red, orange, yellow and purple fruit all at one time.

Here is a link with more info about them

I have never heard of them prior to reading the article you posted(although that doesn't mean much as I am sure there are 100s that I never knew of LOL)
They sound absolutely awesome, and I may need to try them! Do you mind saying where it is you got your seeds from??

I got my seeds on Ebay, though park seed, Tomatogrowers.com hirt's and a few others offer them as well. As far as I know they are OP seed and not listed as hybrids anywhere.

Hopefully someone on here will have grown them if not I will make sure I post later on in the year about them

Yes definitely keep us updated. I am very curious and excited to see an ornamental that isn't fiery....although I like hot peppers too, it's nice to have a choice

Grew them last year & they were beautiful & absolutely covered with peppers. Healthy stocky plants - did well in 3 gallon containers alone & 2 in 5 gallon containers. Thick walled crunchy - mildly sweet & not a hint of heat. I did not pickle them alone so can't attest to their individual pickling qualities but I suspect they provided more than texture in my chili sauce mix.

Definite grow again. Added bonus - for folks who complain about the bitter--green flavor of Bell peppers - this variety does not have that green-grassy flavor when pale (I don't taste what they taste but I'heard it enough to know it's out there & these don't have it)..

Thanks for the reply now I am more excited to grow them. If they do well I will try and save some seed.
