Default mushroom's tomatoes from sprouts to harvest 2011

Hey guys!

Just like the title says, I will be posting pics every now and then to show the progression of my tomatoes. This will be a picture growing journal.

Seeds from the Sample Seed Shop
Hahms Gelbe Topftomate
Black Prince (Chyornyi Prince)
Red Robin

My assignments for Dwarf Project 2011
Sweet Adelaide Purple F6 (Happy Line)
Unnamed tasty small purple F5 (Dinky Line)
Giant Blazing Beauty F5 (Tipsy Line)

First off is a picture of the wee-little sprouts poking out of their shells. These were planted about 4 or 5 days ago and left on top of the fridge.

Cool idea! It's amazing that those tiny little sprouts will be producing tomatoes in a few months. are they all up now?
good luck, and keep us posted!

Here are they are 1 week after planting. I'm so glad I got this Jiffy thing with the covers. Our humidity here sucks and the tomato seeds that I planted in a pot a few days before I planted these still haven't popped up yet. Pretty nice for a flimsy $5 plastic container that is probably only $0.25 to produce including the jiffy pellets lol.

So you germinated using pure heat from a fridge? Or was their light coming from a window?

I covered the top with cardboard only letting a little bit of light get through. I saw on some garden show where the host says tomatoes germinate better in the dark. I don't think it makes a difference though. Just keep it out of really hot direct sun light.

The top of the fridge didn't even feel warm though, but I guess it kept the seeds like 1 or 2 degrees warmer lol.

Hi, mushroom! You got good germination with the fridge, so they were happy enough, right? They are stretching for light at the moment - do you have a light source for them?
