eggplant leaves wilting
So my eggplants, about a 6-8inches tall and in a 4 and a half inch pot have their lower leaves wilting. Their uppermost leaves look great and the stems are strong and everything is green. The peppers right next to them are doing fine as are other eggplants on different shelves. I can't find any vermin that might be affecting them... any ideas? They seem to wilt, get crunchy edges and die, and I am afraid eventually the whole plant will go although right now the tops look fine.

It sounds like cold or freeze damage.Eggplants are effected by temperature (they are delicate) and hate cold weather and Love hot. I have learned if the temperature goes below 40 degrees I cover my seedlings. I do this with gallon water jugs, just cut the bottoms out an place it over the plant. You may want to put something heavy on top so they don't blow over which I also do on windy days. It could also be that those bottom leaves are in the soil or touching it which the plants don't like either. Now you have given me an idea to cure that problem put garden fabric around my seedlings which I will try tomorrow I am currently growing Ichiban, Pingtung Long, Thai Green and Louisiana long green. Hope that helps.
