Can pepper plants catch any tomato diseases?

I know that peppers are distantly related to tomatoes. Are they susceptible to any of the same diseases. I've grown tomatoes enough that my yard now has become inflicted with certain diseases that I have to battle. So far my pepper plants look just fine. I just wondered if they would be susceptible to any of the same diseases. Can anyone tell me?

Fert, off the top of my head, I can say with certainty, that peppers do not catch bacterial diseases from tomatoes, and they aren't generally susaceptible to leaf spot fungal diseases. I'm drawing a total blank right now on viruses.

Not sure it this directly answers your question, but practically speaking, I don't generally have many disease problems with peppers, fungal or otherwise -- and they even get some overspray from my sprinkler system once every 5-7 days or so. I do mulch heavily and they are usually planted in 5-10 gal containers. As far as pests go, spider mites and aphids will sometimes attack them, but I find this happens much less frequently than with tomatoes (at least in my climate).

I've read that several diseases that affect tomatoes can also affect peppers. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
Fusarium Wilt
Verticillium Wilt
Bacterial Leaf Spot
Black Spot
Phytophthora Blight
Powdery Mildew
Southern Blight

However, (and fortunately) I've never seen a pepper plant infected with any of the aforementioned diseases.

I answered the thread, maybe misreading it, that peppers won't catch a disease from a tomato growing alongside it. I do know peppers will not catch bacterial diseases from tomatoes as they are different bacterial strains. General soil diseases such as phytophthora, yes peppers will also get it if it's there, but they didn't catch it from the tomatoes growing nearby. Sorry for not being more specific in my first reply.
