Early Blight / Potassium Bicarbonate / Daconil Questions
I have some small instances of early blight this year (like every year). It's kept in check with my weekly daconil spraying and picking the leaves.
I tried something different and earlier this week I applied a potassium bicarbonate (PB) product to some of the plants and it appears to have "killed" the early blight spots. The yellow areas of the blight have turned brown and have dried up. The result was impressive. I'm supposed to apply the PB at the same elevated concentration weekly for the next two weeks. So, my questions are: 1) Did the PB actually kill the early blight? or am I being fooled? 2) Should I, or would you, continue to apply daconil to the PB treated plants? |
