Is there an all green with green silk type wings insect, that feeds on aphids?
They are larger than a fly and flutter like a termite (fast wings but kinda slow movement)

Right before sundown I was doing a last minute neem spray for aphids... before long there were all these insects fluttering out of the plants like termites do when they swarm.

before long It became too dark to capture one and I just got a brief glimpse of one on a leaf.

any ideas,I looked up Dolichopodidae, but I don't believe that was it ,,, these insects were more angular looking..
I will try to capture one tomorrow, tho I haven't noticed them during daytime watering.

lacewings look like this and are a beneficial, never harm them.

you may be right ,,, that looks pretty close.
that's what I get for spraying right before dark ,,, I did not see any earlier in the day.
hopefully they will make a comeback

thank goodness we had some rain and the lacewings have made a comeback ....

now I'm dealing with stink bugs ,,, they are ruining all my fruit !! .... what can I do without harming all the lady bugs and lacewings I have.? help

Just received a notice that St. Gabriel Organics has just released a Stink Bug Killer so I might order some and let you know if it really kills on contact. Right now I'm just flicking them into a cup of soapy water that drowns them.
