Default Leaf Spot from an elm tree??

I had a terrible outbreak last season late. I have a Box Elm tree that had spots on the leaves very similar to leaf spot for tomatoes The tree is right above my tomato plants. Anyone know if leaf spot can be transferred from an elm tree to tomato plants???? I found this link on the internet http://web.aces.uiuc.edu/vista/pdf_pubs/648.pdf Thanks! >>>>>>>Talon

Luckily, the fungi that cause leaf spots on various tree and shrub species are not the types of fungi that cause leaf spots on tomatoes. Fungal pathogens are very specific as to what species of plants they can infect, so it's nothing to worry about.
