Default Berkeley Tie-dye Heart

Here are some pics of one of the most distinctive looking tomatoes I've raised.

The flavor was excellent as well - as complex as the shape and colors.

I did not expect anything close 1.14 lb. from this variety either.

It's a keeper!

I'm growing this one now, too, but I don't have any fruit yet (added plant late in season). Did you get any fruit that was not multi-lobed? Any single heart-shaped ones? Beautiful colors!

I'm getting dozens of tomatoes from my two Berkeley Tie-dye Heart plants, but I would not characterize any of them as heart-shaped. Nearly all are under 6 oz. and no two are shaped quite the same as each other. Most have a little bit of lobing and there have been a couple of others which resulted from fused blossoms.

Here are pics of a different tomato, from a triple-fused blossom to ripe fruit.

My earliest fruit were somewhat lobed, but the later ones were quite smooth and regular.

Same here the plants which survived this nasty summer rain now have smooth fruits?

I had a customer give me positive feedback today. Out of some 20 varieties of tomatoes she purchased last week, she liked Berkeley Tie-dye Heart the best!

Harvested another beauty today at 0.82 lb.

Ahem.......that is a very voluptuous specimen!!! I haven't gotten any ripe BTDs yet...but my kids would LOVE to have a tomato shaped like a rear end.
