Calcium Nitrate in regular containers
Would my container plants benefit by adding a "snack" of calcium nitrate each week or so?
These are not self watering Last edited by barryla61; May 7, 2012 at 05:57 PM. |

Barry,
Probably. The usual mantra of a low dose to start would seem to apply. If you haven't seen these threads, they are all good. Raybo did a test on Ca - worth a read. http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=19973 He did a related one on Epsom salt (Mg) as the relationship between Ca and Mg are intertwined. http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=19955 Calcium Nitrate and BER http://www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=14513 |

Barry if you go to container section and go to the thread "grow bags again" Carolyn Phillips tells and shows you what she does as far as giving container plants a snack of Cal. Nitrate. Its starts on the third page of the thread. She has incredable results

Should I mix it with water and apply or just work it into the growing medium?
