babice do you know which grubs you have (JB etc). Most grubs have chitin jaws for eating - do some research on crab shells as they provide food for chitin eating micros which in turn will eat the grubs chitin jaws. I don't know of to many companies that make the crab shells I get Neptune Harvest Crab Shell.

Interesting. Yeah, I believe they are JB grubs because I get swarmed with them every year, particularly in the area where I found that grub which is right next to a rose that always gets swarmed. I'll check out the crab shell thing.

BT and DE are supposed to help with those.

I get them every year - haven't seen eggs yet. Did see some Colorado Potato Beetle eggs though - they are now swimming with the fishes. :-)

I will spray with BT this evening.
I am going to buy some DE and give that a shot as well.

BT= bacillus thuringiensis

So, specifically food grade DE is okay to sprinkle on toms, right? One wouldn't want to use DE that isn't food grade, right? And the BT, because it is not made commercially, is considered organic?

Spinosad will kill honeybees. Says so right on the label. The store sold it to me as very safe, but when I got it home and got my 'good' glasses on and could read the fine print, I brought it back and bought BT and DE instead. Safer soap is the only other thing I use from them.
I use as many things from Carrots Love Tomatoes as possible, including garlic, hot peppers, ginger, milk, eggs, etc. I figure if I can eat it, I can use it to repel bugs and animals safely.
I'm disabled with Multiple Chemical sensitivity, from too much exposure to chemicals when I was younger. I have to be extra careful, but know that it could happen to you, too.
