blackcat,

Great job!!

They look like the Rubbermaid containers, and if so, I would highly recommend you spray all of the sides and lid with 303 Aerospace Protectant. Also consider wrapping them in bamboo or rattan curtain material to protect them from the Sun's UV.

Keep us posted with photos after you plant them.

Thank's for the compliment.

I have the same (blue) Rubbermaid container as a recycle bin that has been outside (24-7-365) for many years and is still going strong with no uv problems.

So far I have 6 Whopper's, 1 Japanese Black Trifele, 1 Celebrity Bush, and a bunch of sprouting unknowns from prior year fallen (tomato) fruit. I'll be planting both in-ground and EarthTainer.

Only one plant per container? Wonder if that will make a difference in size and productivity....

My "nose" is telling me that you will likely get the same productivity with the single plants in your 18 gallon EarthTainers, as you would get cramming 2 plants in there. It would be an interesting study to conduct some time - but that is my hunch, especially with large indeterminate varieties.

Dwarf Project plants are a different story. Two per 18 gallon EarthTainer would be my ideal:
