New Wal Mart Shrub Rose for 2012
This year, my Zone 5 Wal Mart is carrying potted shrub roses in orange and off white for $10.44. There is no breed or supplier on the tag. Info on the tag states shrub and a height/spread of 3'-8'. The 3' would be great to give some pop to the pink Knockouts, the 8' not so great next to a shorter Knockout. Does anyone have info on the origin of these roses and their ultimate height in Zone 5?

I have a question about your knockout roses. My MIL told me about 50 times she wanted some. I could not find them locally so I ordered some. I got two that say double. Do you know what that means? I have no clue about roses.

In my area, Lowes, Wak-Mart, Kmart all sell Knockouts in the bright green pot for $10-$20. The patent holder of Knockout has a website with tons of info. Just google Knockout and the breeder conard pyle will pop up first. The double just has a fluffier look and slightly improved winter hardiness over the original. The colors are very specific to the patent. You can also check out the American Rose Society for general rose info.

This year they had peach trees for sell that said "Peach", nothing else. Since peaches need a chill time of as much as 1,100 hours to as little as 300 hours who knows what you will get. Is it yellow, white, cling, free stone, semi cling, early, mid or late season, or what? I refuse to buy anything that does not have the cultivar listed. With some plants I can tell they have the wrong labels on the wrong plants. To this day Home depot is selling Agave Americana as Agave Geminiflora Not just one plant as though someone moved the label but all of them. What it the difference? A lot, Agave Geminiflora cant stand the cold Agave Americana can. Lets see if you can tell the difference. Agave Geminiflora with Americana in the background. Just one variety of Agave Americana.
