Cowlick's Brandywine and Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye
Late Blight is starting to take its toll, but I am getting production in parts of the field. Tonight I taste my first Cowlick's Brandywine.

Cowlick's is one of the best tomatoes I have tried. Production is very good and I am getting many 1lb+ tomatoes.
Pink Berkeley Tie Die is the nicest looking tomato. The color isn't just on the outside, but when you slice it, the colors vary within as well. |

Oh thats right I saw late blight on the map somebody posted showing up in or near Valley Center. That surprised me, I thought Late Blight was mostly associated with wet weather and I would think your weather would be a lot like mine, hot and dry thru the summer.

I had late blight last year, but not until the end of September. After I broke my leg on June 1, a friend watered the tomato plants for me and he decided the leaves looked a bit dusty so he sprayed down all the leaves for me. Ugh! When I was able to hobble down to the field two weeks later I saw sure signs of blight, but it is moving very slowly because the weather is dry.
