Default Goldener October

What Autumn is called in Germany when the weather cools down and leaves turn yellow and fall to the ground. The weather has remained mild with the lows in the 40's and the high's in the high 60's. Just enough so my late tomato crop can ripen before the frost hits. The first 2 pics are my asian pear trees turning color and dropping their leaves. The following pictures 3-13 are the following varieties. Pictures taken this AM.
Amazon Chocolate, Serenity, Bilders, Sweet Dreams, Oleyars German, Gukers Special, Christopher Columbus, Casady' Folley, Phils Fantastic, Purple Haze and Kolb Pink.

Ami, that will be enough for a lot of slices and many bowls of salad! I'd wish I would live nearer by to pick some of your beauties! I miss my daily bowl at this time of the year... Enjoy your tomatoes! clara

clara, there's always next year. If you were closer I would bring them to you!

Linda, with the way Mischka has the site set up and as cheap as digital camera's have gotten I can take pictures, download on my computer and post them here in 15 minutes. I love digital photography.

Ami

Autumn in the U.P.of MI. is just a hint different. I've had my plants pulled since the end of Sept. Our first good frost hit earlier that month. Our daytime weather has been jumping around a bit, but the constant is cold nights.

Your pictures are something to look forward to. My daughter got me a digital camera for Fathers Day, I guess I should have her teach me how to download them.

Thanks,

Buck

Ami,

What was your impression of Kolb Pink? It looks fairly productive for a large beefsteak. I am interested because the origin of that tomato is near my hometown.

With the crazy weather we had in 2010 it wasn't bad. Descent production, good fruit set in high temps, 300 to 400 grams and taste was very good. If you would like some seeds shoot me a PM with your addy. Ami

Ami, I love your Golden October pictures - so nice to be able to ripen these fruits on the vine and celebrate the season end!
