My "Fall Haul" 10/23/2006
Got to love tomatoes that keep on producing even in crisp cool fall air. I cut the plants back in the august heat and here is my haul from one day!

Nice tomatoes. Would you mind sharing some of the seeds of that Samuel Adams variety?

What a great late-season haul, Tom.
I would be thrilled with that any time of year. What are the uniform-shaped ones? Enjoy and may you geet another harvest soon. |

Thanks Grub! Those uniform shaped ones are Siberian. The taste is fair, but the production is incredible. In the cold weather, hot weather, regardless this is the one plant that always had ripe tomatoes.

Wow Tim! That's impressive! I harvested my last 4 tomatoes last week and thought I was rich (We had a freeze the next night here in Canton).
What were some of the other varieties that you harvested? Bill |

Well yesterday (Nov 4th) I picked another 50 from 4 plants. (Momatoro, Black from Tula, Persimon & Japanese Oxheart) The nights have regularly dipped to 32 here, so I don't think they can keep it up. But the fact that they are in dark colored earthboxes (homemade ones) probably helps, as the sun warms the water in the resevior keeping the roots warm.
