Default Friend or foe?

Noticed 2 different things happening in the garden tonight. Can you help me ID these bugs? Doesn't seem to be any damage. Yet.

white things could be aphids. Last year when I had bunch of aphids on one plant, a whole lot looked green, but there were quite a few that looked white too.

They all look like aphids to me. Some aphids have wings, most don't.

White ones are the dead shells. Something may be eating them in which case the levels will remain low. Do you have ladybug larvae or lacewings?

Thanks all. Went out this morning to look for beneficials but didn't see anything. I took a closer look and all of what is pictured above are dead, including the winged ones, which I also found on some of my other plants. The white shells were isolated to 1 growing tip on 1 plant so I am not concerned about them yet. Now I am more curious about what is keeping them in check.

Rocky,

Can't really tell from the photos, but appears you might have some aphid 'mummies' there. That would indicate your aphid control is courtesy of a parasitic wasp.
