Pepper - top wilt

The top half of one of my peppers wilted overnight. The bottom half looked completely normal. What would cause this? I've been growing peppers for a lot of years and have never had this happen. The plants have had rain or watering on a normal one week schedule and none of the other plants were wilted. Afraid I don't have a picture because as soon as I found it I pulled it out and got rid of it.
