Default Help identifying container shrub/tree please

I have had this shrub/tree for about a year now and somehow misplaced the marker identifying it. It has grown sickly but before I attempt to prune or fertilize it I was hoping for some help in identifying it. Any ideas?

It did have small clusters of pink/purple flowers last summer...
Thank you all in advance for any help you can provide!!!

The leaves look like Escallonia.
