My New Personal Best (So Far )
The largest tomato I had growing began to flash color a couple of days ago so yesterday morning I cut it from the vine and took it over to our local office of the Pennsylvania Weights and Measures Division to have it weighed.
This one is from the same 2.78 2012 Mega Marv seed line that produced the other 4 pounder of the season. It's now produced 2 four pounders with this latest one being my personal best so far. 4.025 pounds with a CC" of 24 3/8 inches. I have another two potential giants growing at the moment.

That is amazing, Julia! Good thing it's not a beauty contest, right?

Good for you Julia! You are on a roll. Let's hope that the others that are growing weigh in even more.
You sure have gone far in one year. I wonder what the next season will bring... Do you pull your plants after picking or allow them to flower to produce some for eating?

When do you hear back from the online contest you've entered?
I can't wait to see all those ribbons you're going to win! |
