Mulberries, huh!. I've got to look into getting a couple of trees. There was a huge Mulberry Tree on the river cabin and property we used to lease out for vacation back when I was a teenager. Some of the fruits were as big as my little fnger - well, not quite as long, but they were big. We didn't do any canning with them, but they were really sweet and mom had to keep warning me not to eat too many.
Purple/red fingers and hands?? Mine are, too. From the Blackberry time of this season. I just finished canning 26 pints of jam. We froze enough berries to make some cobblers this winter. I just love the "free for my effort" stuff that Mother Nature gives us.

Ha ha! Mine are too. We have a Weeping Mulberry tree and a Robin is most upset with me for picking fruit. She must have a nest in there because she keeps dive-bombing me. Oh well, they weren't very tasty, so she can have them......
