Szentesi Piacos & Szegedi Peppers
Pictures of Szentesi Piacos peppers and Szegedi peppers. Both are only mildly hot, but care must always be taken with the seeds. Seeds in most semi-hot and mild hot types can cause skin irritation or burns.

Looks like a good pepper to have.
I dont care for the super and ultra hots as I like pepper flavor in my salsa and sauces. The only time I use super hots is when I make a tomato or fruit based dipping sauce for chips. But most of my salsas are made from mostly 'if not all, peppers. Where does this one compare to a hot jalapeno? Worth |

Hi Worth,
Szentesi Piacos are about 500 to 1,000 Scoville Units (mild). Szegedi Peppers (not Giant Szegedi which are more bell type) are about 100 to 200 Scoville Units (almost no heat). Jalapeño are typically 4,000 to 8,000 Scoville (depending on who you ask). Dutch |
