Pith Necrosis
My entire tomato set is infested with pith necrosis. Every variety is infected so I'm assuming it's from the soil. Never had a problem for the past 6 years and now this happens. Very frustrating. I managed to find some new plants at the local farmer's co-op that were still in decent shape. So i ripped up half the plants removed a large area of soil and replaced it with fresh and replanted that area. Left the other half to see what happens. The more vigorous infected plants seem to be outgrowing the disease.

Will the original ones die or will they make it? Any ideas on why this happened this year and not in the past? If anyone has experience they can share, it would be much appreciated. |
