Default Problems with peppers

Hi all! I struggle with blight on my tomatoes every year, but have never had any problems with my pepper plants. The past few days I have found some of the pepper leaves are turning yellow and brown around the edges and falling off the plant. Granted, we have had 3 weeks of record breaking rainfalls, so I don't know if they are water logged, diseased, or have a nutritional deficiency. Does anyone know what this could be?

If you have had the kind of rain you describe then it is probably just waterlogged plants. Peppers do not do well in those conditions and can die if the soil doesn't dry out some. Heavy rains can also cause leaching of nutrients resulting in pale leaves and unhealthy plants. I lost peppers occasionally to waterlogged soil before I built raised beds and even with raised beds I had trouble the year it rained over 2 feet in one month.

It's not a nutritional problem. Nute issues will express themselves around the veins in the leaves. Bacterial/Fungal problems make their spots without regard for the veins in the leaves.

I'm not a pepper expert (or a tomato expert, either), but check out this link, it looks a lot like what you have: http://aces.nmsu.edu/pubs/research/h...0/welcome.html
