I figure it's best to spray this solution in the evening anyway. That way, the plants can dry overnight before the blistering sun comes out tomorrow.

I have a feeling that it is the beginnings of Gray Mold. The county ag guy told me last year that Gray Mold is what gets a lot plants around here. What I have read about using the milk/water solution tells that it prevents and even cures a lot of diseases and mold. I hope so.

I wonder if there is a way to prevent Gray mold from happening?
Lots and lots of mulch.
Never mow when the dust will get on the plants.
And cross your fingers.
I have found that the black tomatoes get it worse than any other variety I have grown.
I know you have read about the several ointments sprays and salves they have to help prevent it.

When I see it I just take out the plant as soon as I can.
One time I had one black cherry amongst other black cherries come down with it.

I have heard or read that a Mancozeb and copper mix works well in preventing Gray Mold. I have not tried it and the bleach mix seems to take care of the problem almost every time. Best of all if used early and often it will stop the spread to other plants or make it so slow it doesn't really hurt them too much.

I use the bleach spray as a preventative spray even though it doesn't leave a preventive film on the plant. I use it during rainy periods between rains to kill off any diseases that are starting before they can get a good foothold on the plants. I sprayed it about every three days during the past two weeks and it worked really good. I ended that long rainy period with far less disease on the plants than I would expect. I wanted to apply a fungicide today but had to lower and clip the plants in one of my beds and just didn't get around to it. Maybe tomorrow.

Hey Bill, what is your bleach mix/recipe? I thought I made note of it last year but have no idea where it would be. PM it if you don't mind. I do remember there was a big question about what concentration bleach comes as now, since it not listed on the bottles nowadays.
