Default Okra in 5 Gallon Buckets

Hi all

Here is a photo of my Clemson Spineless okra (3 plants) in a 5 gallon bucket, non-SIP. The bucket was drilled with 1" holes, lined with weed block bag (homemade) and filled with homemade media (ProMix BX, Perlite and lime and about a tablespoon of Osmocote). Top watered about every third day in the heat of summer.

The plants have grown well and are about 6' tall now and have been producing okra at about one per plant per day for a couple of months. Pulled them out last weeekend since they stopped polinating and producing. Not a big crop but will plant at least 2 buckets next season.

Hope this inspires some to try okra in containers.
