I have never deliberately crossed tomatoes in my life although they have occasionally crossed on my watch when grown in the field . Don't forget that the earliest ones that were deliberately bred were done primarily at Agricultural Colleges places were not done by so many folks that do it today, many here at tville do it for different reasons, both personal and commercial ones. And we can go all the way back to the late 1800's when Alexander Livingston contributed so much. Carolyn

Yes, thanks, Tom- my tomatoes seem to be really happy so far but my onions appear to have that curly, floppy fungal/onion thrips thing going on again this year. I'm seriously considering cutting way back on the kinds of veggies I grow next year. Last edited by kath; June 4, 2018 at 03:59 PM. |

One of the members here has a smaller forum with no bickering if you might want to check it out. I like it. Scroll to the end of the thread for the address.

Worth, you never once asked why the sad face emoticon. Though I don't / should not have to explain, the so called "stupid sad face" posted with the quote from you that made me feel sad since your post was about abuse, neglect and some one being beaten with fists. I don't recall any other posts where I did the "stupid sad face", but if there are, then the post made me feel sad. I would have thought that was obvious, since it is a sad face emoticon. Post #54 in this thread: http://www.tomatoville.com/showthrea...t=47539&page=4 Never realized it was required to explain myself. Last edited by imp; June 5, 2018 at 08:12 AM. Reason: spelling. |

Mine are doing great Tom & thanks for asking. We have had very little Spring weather here. Seemed to go straight from Winter to Summer.
The original thread did have some good info on early blight with pictures. Please everyone lighten up. Life is too short.

Back to the subject. After two weeks of heavy rain every day the good old summer arrived here with a vengeance with 90+ days and humidity to match. Now EB is making a big appearance in my tomato patch.

I'm just a lowly cook and only need the 3 jaw. Now if I were a chef I would use the 4 jaw. Surprisingly my 3 jaw is only out by about 0.001 but still not good enough for chef work. Worth |
