Indeterminate dwarf container size
Been growing indeterminate tomatoes for 50 yrs now and decided to try indeterminate dwarf varieties this season. I grow in 20 gallon containers and wondered if I needed a smaller container for the dwarf varieties? I do have 7 gallon, maybe to small? Please advise. Thanks as always.

It is suggested that dwarfs from The Dwarf Project can be grown in 5 gallon containers, so your 7 gall ones should be fine .

Of the several dwarfs from the project I grew the method was to grow each variety in a 5 gallon bucket and in ground with all the other tomatoes. The buckets produced about half the in ground grown and the average size was maybe 60%.
Not a definitave experiment but an indicator that the larger the container the better. And that in ground is even better. As for flavor difference there was nothing that jumped out in the years of being part of the dwarf project one way or the other.

I was thinking about a "Good Mission" this year in growing the many Dwarf Tomato Seeds in my greenhouse as a Family Winter Garden that I received from you all over the Year here at Tomatoville.

For the few years that I grew Dwarf indeterminate varieties, I grew them in 15 gal grow bags and they did very well for what it’s worth.

OK, then in January 2025, I will grow as many Dwarf Tomato Seeds as possible, as I have received from many people here in the last 10 years. I will make my Report.
