Greenbush Italian.. What a lovely heart tomato! The red fruit was meaty and had a wonderful, fantastic, rich tomato flavor that was more on the acidic side. It is a regular leaf, mid to late mid season variety that has pretty good production, but, the size of the fruit varied for me. I had a couple that were just under one pound, and the rest were medium to small in size, but to be noted, I picked some of the fruit while still green because of all the rain we had been having and the birds were pecking on my tomatoes. I am fermenting a few seeds from the large fruit, and plan on growing it next season. I cooked down the one large fruit and it made a thick, rich paste after cooking only five minutes.. Yummy

It has been raining the past three day's and the temps have cooled off enough so it feels chilly. I finally had the chance to turn on my oven, so I baked some more loaves of zucchini bread, and some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I use 1/2 oat flour, substituting for half white flour. I grind up the oats into flour with my little ninja blender.

I had some more tomatoes ripen up in the GH, so, I woke up early to do more canning.. With the rain and cooler temps this week, the kitchen does not heat up quite so much.. I don't feel like I am going to melt..

One of our young Bourbon Red turkey's decided to try out it's wings and flew up on the top of the coop roof.

Another beautiful, but rainy, foggy morning. My beloved family members and I love to take early morning walks..

Madame (Marmande) Rouge Garnier. A workhorse of a tomato. I picked these lovely tomatoes off of one plant/vine, and it is still producing. One of my best producers this season.. Great flavor for fresh eating and makes an excellent canner for the fruit has a good ratio of meat and juice.

Nero Di Toscana Kale.. Also known as Lacinato, or Dinosaur Kale. This is an Italian Heirloom from 1885.. The leaves are colored in a beautiful green blue and puckered. Can grow up to 3 feet in my GH. Great flavor that improves after frost. One of my favorites. Very hardy..
