Harvested my first County Fair cuke today, 51 days from seed. It appears to be real healthy and is loading up with fruit. I forgot when I planted these that they are all female flowers. Do they need a pollinator or are they like Diva?

Feldon - interesting - my hill of 5 Diva plants, set out just after the last frost, motor on - completely healthy, no mildew and I am getting fruit in waves - just when I think they are done, out come blossoms and fruit set everywhere. An amazing variety, best when fairly small and slender, but even the few I missed and picked too large are delicious!
Oh yeah - and I am growing in heavy clay soil, with extreme humidity and heat!

Feldon I have had GREAT luck with Market More 76 on the coast.
You should run, 'don't walk to the store and get some now. There is still time. Worth |

Just planted two more hills of Diva for late summer/early fall cukes - though I continue to pick 2-3 fruit per day from the original 5 plants that went in this spring! No sign of any disease whatsoever!
Diva will be back in the garden next year!

Diva outlasted all other varieties in my garden as far as how long the plants were around. It is a winner both taste wise and productivity. Great for fresh eating as well as making pickles. It wasnt even in the best spot sun wise this spring, yet performed great. I love the variety.
Nice patch there Earl! |
