Still picking plenty of Poona Kheera from my second sowing in mid-June. At least two cukes a day from just two plants. Will sow again sometime in Sept, I think.

Poona Kheera remains my favorite for both taste and productivity, even though I try a few other varieties occasionally.

I really like PK too, I am averaging 3 a day from 4 plants. Made some dill spears with a few and have given some to friends who love them.

Pulled 7 PK today and found a real small hole in 5 of them. Pests havent really been much of a problem with my cukes this year, guess I was just lucky early on. Not sure what it is but hopefully it wont become too bad of a problem

I am growing Greek from Sandhill-Nice fruit-you can pick them real small or let them get bigger-not bitter to our tastebuds. Going to be a cucumber machine.

Sowed Diva for a fall crop Sunday but was hit by a pest overnight that hadnt given me problems before. Darn dog dug up the whole area so I resowed on Monday. 2 plants peeking this morning already. Cant wait!

This spring, Diva is even slower than last year. I have only harvested 2 fruit so far and hardly any flowering going on. Hopefully it will crank them out once it gets started like last year

My poona keera was stunted. I pulled them up and replanted. I think it was too cold for them and too windy-I planted out much earlier than I usually do.

I bought Diva seeds this year thanks to all the recomendations on here. However mine were just planted last week ;( Can't wait to see how they do. The first seed is popping out of the dirt today. Also planted Cool Breezes and Sweet Success PS Hybrid and waiting on two more from Dave on the way in the mail. I can't imagine cukes not growing, if nothing else grows I always get cukes!

I can never remember that word Parthenocarpic! I got a hybrid parthenocarpic zucchini too and hope I like it! Looks like the two Diva I planted have started to poke up, while my best friend planted a whole package and only got two to sprout. The cross of sweet success and english telegraph sounds pretty good. You must be really good at crossing things!

I am looking forward to getting your seeds and planting them!

Diva has always germinated well for me, just somewhat of a slow starter for whatever reason. The plants are over 6 ft tall at this point

My understanding was that the parthenocarpic varieties, like Diva, are triggered to produce fruit by shorter day length...or something like that anyway. I grew it the first year Johnny's introduced it but it was a late at setting for me too and I thought overall the season was too short to suit me. I returned to the plants with the boy and girl flowers the following year. It makes me dependent on bees but I have a lot of bumble bees here, luckily.

Ok if they need shorter day length, did changing the daylight savings time this year hurt a good start for Diva?
