Prep for the coming storms and high winds are done, now I'm chilling on the patio with a friend.
She probably just laid her eggs somewhere in our lawn and is taking a break before making the trek back down the hill to the brook. |

I bet Layka would still go for the bad guy, though maybe a bit slower.
Earlier I was wondering whether cats snore. A bit ago Minnie was sleeping on my hand. Answer: Yes they do, albeit quietly (to us).

Q: Can an AR-15 shoot full cans of soda or beer as ammo?
A: Yes. Yes, it can. http://defenderoutdoors.com/160320-x...xac-cancan-blk Can Cannon Can launcher that uses a proprietary gas ported barrel and pressure tube to launch heavy, thin walled objects without burning a hole in them or directing hot gas directly into them. Set up for launching full, unopened 12-ounce soda cans. When used with standard mil-spec blanks, it reaches an average distance of 105 yards. Sold as an assembled upper with receiver headspaced and mounted ported barrel and pressure tank. Works with mil-standard bolt and most piston bolts. BATFE approved design; not considered a destructive device or firearm. |

One in the pond looks like a sea turtle. Huge. These guys were laying June 16. Critters dig the eggs every year, but some always seem to make it. There are about 10 nests in a 10' space. |

They add a little excitement to the dark.
One learns to pick up a stick and hold it in front of one's face when walking at night. They jump down and run away.

Here's my haul from an auction today. I paid $42. It's hard to see everything, but there would be hundreds of dollars of containers here if I bought them new. Just the 4" sheet pot inserts stacked on the end of the tailgate are $1 per sheet when I buy them new. My lot of merchandise went for about half of what it should, judging by the prices paid for similar stuff, but mine was the dirtiest and piled in the back of an old barn. The picture of it was not that appealing. The auction was online, so all there was to go by was the pictures.
