Beautiful plants! Are the plants in the photos natural or planted? Are Trillium leaves always variegated?

Those are wildflowers. They are growing on a government wildlife preserve, which is 40 acres the government stole from my great grandfather through eminent domain. He got almost nothing for the land. That was in the 1930's. Then they never used it or connected it to any other government land. Mostly what they are preserving is poison ivy. We might get one deer hunter or two once a year.

Another random picture - I just bought an angle adapter for my impact driver, so I could patch together some rusty vents. I love this thing so far...

I think my mom said that too right away when she saw it last year... I see the hat and nose from the comics and hear it saying "hey there Arch". Either way it was a good laugh for everyone that saw it sitting on the vegetable shelf for a good long while.

Strange white beast does all the concrete finishing while the boys man the wheel barrows.

Finally figured out attachments...thought I needed to make an album for everything and convert it to 600x600 pixels.
So this bug ended up on my sleeve one morning last October while duck hunting. Me and the dog were up since 3am or whatever and at first I couldn't believe my eyes. It was the size of a big hornworm, maybe as big as 3". Never did get around to looking up an ID. I was afraid to touch it, of course! |

Was your Kate an english setter? They are so graceful. I have two springers, and the two breeds look very similar to me, depending on the color. From what I've read they were originally the same breed.
That springer above is pretty good sitting for ducks and he really watches the sky well as in that picture. He has a real sheddy coat. He is three next week. I also have a female that is six, with a coarser, curlier coat that hardly sheds. They are both family dogs, real lovers as well as hunters. They are great dogs, though the girl is a very protective at home and will try to bark and bluff anyone she doesn't know. Last edited by JRinPA; May 7, 2018 at 10:37 PM. |

Beautiful Springers! I once watched one fish for the rocks its owner was tossing into water shallow enough for the dog to find them. The in-laws used to have one, Fifi, in the city who was forever having to be bailed out of the pound. She was a happy wandering garbage hound! Things were different in those days.
